The World At War

The World at War narrated by Lawrence Oliver is without doubt the televisions best documentary series chronicling the events of the Second World War.
Aired back in 1973/4 this series recalls the Second World War from the perspective of expertise, witnesses and ordinary citizens who witnessed the torture and the catastrophe of the world worst episode of mankind.
This is well worth a watch for anyone anyway interested in military warfare. Also can be shown to Leaving Certs as it has episodes that solely deal with: The Rise of Hitler and his foreign policy, Operation Barbarossa, Stalingrad and the Peace Negotiations all of which are prominent Leaving Cert Question is Topic 3 in the Leaving Cert Paper.
Watched all 26 episodes a few summers ago on the Military Channel and now planning on reading the book written by Richard Holmes. You cant know enough material!!
