Christmas Truce

Ninety Nine Years ago yesterday the Christmas Truce  which was a a series of widespread, unofficial ceasefires that took place along the Western Front around Christmas 1914, during WWI. Through this week leading up to Christmas, parties of German and British soldiers began to exchange seasonal greetings and songs between their trenches.



It is even recalled that a game of soccer between the Germans and British took place Christmas day in no mans land, an area where thousands had already been killed.



This event also went on to inspire people to create a movie about the event…Joyeux Noel
